French award-winning actress Michèle Morgan dies at the age of 96.

French award-winning actress Michèle Morgan who was given an honorary César Award for her contributions to French cinema dies at the age of 96.

Born on February 1920, Morgan was a leading lady for three decades in both French cinema and Hollywood.

Being the winner of the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival, she was considered as one of France’s great actresses in the 20th century.

During her professional life, she acted in more than 70 movies, including ‘Port of Shadows’, ‘La Symphonie pastorale’ and ‘The Fallen Idol’.

The time chink between the 1940s and 1960s was the peak of her stardom and she gradually faded away from the screen after the new wave of cinema in France.

Morgan passed away on 20 December 2016 in France due to natural causes.
